Most of the logistical problems for the first wave of trainees have been overcome. Depending the trade, classroom

qualification training will begin on the new submarines in Barrow.

Presentation:  Tom Murray presented the rum tank taken off HMCS Ojibwa in 1972. He gave a brief history of the
rum tank, how he obtained it for two jars of coffee, how it was installed on a small boat as a fresh water tank which
later sank. Tom lost track of the rum tank when he left the Navy in the mid 70's to become a member of the police force.
He indicated a couple of his friends found the rum tank in the sunken boat of Boutlier's Point in about 30 ft of water.
They recovered the tank and gave it to Tom.
