on types of training for this class of submarine in the UK.
Most of the logistical problems for the first wave of

training ranges from 3 weeks (cooks) to 8 months (tech
trades). On completion of classroom training, "on hands"
qualification training will begin on the new submarines
in Barrow.
Presentation: Tom Murray presented the rum tank
taken off HMCS Ojibwa in 1972. He gave a brief history of the
rum tank, how he obtained it for two jars of coffee,
how it was installed on a small boat as a fresh water tank which
later sank. Tom lost track of the rum tank when he left
the Navy in the mid 70's to become a member of the police force.
He indicated a couple of his friends found the rum tank
in the sunken boat of Boutlier's Point in about 30 ft of water.
They recovered the tank and gave it to Tom.

the submarine museum feasibility study. The most feasible
route is by water and various costs have been identified.
The complete report will appear in the next news letter after
presentation to the war museum staff. Sherm Embree indicated
