3. The minutes of the previous meeting 19
Jan 1999 were read by the secretary. There were no omissions or errors.
Moved by the secretary that the minutes be adopted as
read. Seconded by Mike MacGillivary.
Carried.
4. The treasurer indicated there is $3490.60
in the bank..
5. Reports:
Secretary: Currently the renewal rate
stands at 71%, renewals coming in slowly.
Entertainment: The entertainment chairman
indicated the next get together will be on Friday, April 9th, 1999 at
Hoo Doo McFiggens. He will have several raffles during
lunch.
6. Old Business:
a. Perley Hospital volunteers: As an Association
there has not been as many volunteers as anticipated. Volunteers
are putting in more weekends than was expected. A lot
of the times they are asked to work with minimal notice. Keith
Voller will look into this and report back to us at the
next meeting. We may choose to bow out gracefully, however,
members may still carry on, on an individual basis.
7. New Business:
a. It was moved by the slops custodian that a transfer
of 15 key chains and lapel pins be approved
for the secretary to use as joining items for new members.
These items are removed from the slops account at cost.
Seconded by Don McKerracher. Carried
b. A general discussion over how we can get members
to commit coming to the BBQ. Last year a substantial
number said they would attend, but didn't show. The executive
is looking for ideas on what we can do so that
this doesn't occur again in the future. This caused a
great deal of difficulty in logistical forecasting.
It was moved that the meeting be adjourned at 20:10 by
Gerry Rutherford, seconded by Tony Ohara.
Carried.
The winner of the 50/50 draw was Keith Nesbit, the
member was not present. The sum of $52.00 is carried over to the
next meeting.
Next meeting is on 23 Mar 99, future meetings
20 Apr 99, May 18, 22 Jun 99.
